One of my most often said prayers is that God would grant me the opportunity to reach lots of "at-risk" youth...
This being the ability to talk to young persons, and anyone else, with the gospel message of salvation as well as a cautionary tale about not becoming involved in criminal activities and thereby ending up in prison.
Sadly, I continue to see too many young men coming into the prison system, many with long sentences. Their lives ruined. If they only knew that carrying a gun, robbing people, dealing in drugs and the lust for fast money is really a path to self-destruction. The glitter and glamour, so often portrayed in books, television shows and movies, is an illusion. It's a big lie.
The truth is, you lose when you come to prison. And I want young men and women to know this.
