Looking at the calendar this morning came the realization that it has been five years since my Dad passed away...

Looking at the calendar this morning came the realization that it has been five years since my Dad passed away...
Five years? I was amazed, even stunned, that it had been this long a time. It seems as it was only yesterday that he was alive and living in retirement. I still vividly recall his last day on earth, even our last phone call only the day before his death.
My father passed away on March 4, 2012, at the age of 101. Yet it doesn't at all seem like half a decade has gone by, but it has.
Life is like the Bible says. We are like a vapor which appears for a short while, but quickly vanishes away. We're like the grass which seems to suddenly pop up in the spring, only to wither at summer's end. Life is given, and then it gets taken away. How important it is to use our allotted time on earth well.
