Earlier today, I was able to spend time with a few of the guys from my chapel's fellowship group...
We were discussing how that true Bible-believing Christianity is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Hence, the admonition from the Scriptures to be a good soldier for Jesus Christ, and to always be ready to "fight the good fight of faith" by the strength He provides us with (1 Timothy 6:12 and 2 Timothy 4:7).
As both incarcerated individuals as well as serious-minded disciples of the Lord, we know from experience that our faith gets challenged every day. Sometimes these challenges are the result of spiritual attacks in one form or another. While at other times it is simply having to deal with the rigors of imprisonment. I stated that either way these things are all tests to help us mature in the faith, along with developing discipline, which every soldier of Christ must learn over time.
For my friends and I, it was a time for encouragement, character development, and support. This is what we Christians must do on a regular basis.
