Earlier this evening, I received the news that my beloved father passed away while in his bed...
He had been very ill for at least several weeks. He was not eating, and was very weak. A sweet hospice nurse was with him all the time.
I hope to write more about this, maybe tomorrow. For now, I need to pray and take it all in. God, I know, was with my father to the end.
In his final weeks, a couple of my Christian friends, who knew my Dad personally, stopped by to spend time with him. There was Harriet, and Tony Loeffler. And there was one of the employees at the assisted living facility my Dad was in. A dear Christian lady who had taken a liking to my father and of often visited with him during her breaks.
Only four days earlier, Tony, returning to Florida after being away from his family to go out of state on a prison ministry tour, stopped in to see him. Tony told me he'd been "prompted" by the Holy Spirit to do so. He prayed for my Dad as he placed his hands upon him. Tony also gave my Dad a gentle massage, rubbing my father's worn body with the love of Yeshua (Jesus). I couldn't ask for more (see Tony's letter, remembering his visit, below).
