Although frequently lacking of late, my prayer time seems to have acquired a second wind...
Recently I was convicted by how often I've been neglecting prayer, either by lingering too long on my bunk in the morning, or by drifting off to sleep before saying my prayers at night. But through the strength the Holy Spirit provides, my prayer life is starting to be revitalized.
Although I can still do much better in this area, I have begun to pray with greater earnestness for such matters as the salvation of Jews and Muslims. I have been praying specifically for the nations of Egypt, Libya, and Tunisia as they face violence and civil unrest. Also for Japan, as they continue to recover from a devastating earthquake. Of course, I also pray for my nation, too.
In addition, for reasons known only to the Lord, I have begun to pray and intercede for various islands in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and for the gospel to spread in these places. And always near the top of my own personal prayer list are Native American and First Nations peoples who live on reservations in both the United States and Canada.
