For other foundation can no man lay
than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:11
It has been tough going for me since December of last year...
than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 3:11
It has been tough going for me since December of last year...
But God's grace is always more than sufficient, and I do not lack. And if I ever do seem to lack, it is never for long. Because God is faithful to refresh me and to replenish my strength as I wait upon Him.
Meanwhile, since the beginning of the month, I have begun to experience a breakthrough. My two-month-long bronchial infection now appears to be on its way out, and without my having to resort to antibiotics. While, a degree of physical strength has also returned. But more than this, I am now seeing a positive change where I work. On weekdays, I am assigned as an aid and caregiver at the prison's Intermediate Care Program. I help the men who have various emotional and mental health problems.
Recently, a handful of new men have transferred into the program from other facilities who appear to be hungry for God. In addition, several of the guys who've been with me for a while have started to attend worship services and Bible studies with more regularity. Most days I now find them waiting for me to show up because they want to talk about Jesus Christ. This is definitely encouraging, and it brings new energy to my spirit to have such spiritual interaction. No doubt it is all a work of the Lord. He is touching and moving hearts, and I thank Him.
After what has appeared to me to be an endless series of small spiritual battles and skirmishes with the demonic hosts of discouragement, a breakthrough is occurring for me, and I rejoice in the Lord. Weariness and weeping may endure for a season, but joy and strength eventually come (Psalm 30:5).
