If you could believe it, I just returned from a week's stay in Mexico...
Not really. But I was there in both heart and spirit.
My friends, who attend a Calvary Chapel Church in southern California, recently returned from a trip to Mexico. They do evangelistic work among the people in the area of La Paz.
They've been working with several impoverished congregations to help set up youth programs and outreaches to hopefully steer young persons away from drugs, gangs, and crime. Amazingly, some of those who now pastor these congregations were former gang members and drug dealers themselves.
My friends also like to pass out copies of my testimony pamphlet in Spanish to all who'd take one. Most of these people have never heard of "Son of Sam." But my story of crime to Christ and murderer to minister, gives them hope.
That's what their message is all about - giving hope to people through the life transforming Gospel of salvation and forgiveness that can only be found by having a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
