Although it's an ever-fading memory...
...as the Lord continues to do a work of healing in my life, I remember, albeit vaguely, the time when I foolishly pledged my allegiance to Satan. It was back those many years ago, as an already troubled man in my early twenties, when I lifted up a copy of the satanic bible and called upon the Devil himself. I surrendered myself to him to use me in any way he chose. He did just that. Lucifer used me to "steal, kill, and destroy."
So I know firsthand about the subject that a young man from the West Coast asked me about in a recent letter. "Are you familiar with occult programming?" I am! Although I didn't know this particular term back when I was living out my days as a "soldier for Satan," I certainly know it now. The possession and control of one's mind by a demon is by no means uncommon.
Anyhow, after receiving Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I made it a point to try and educate society to the reality of what I would call the "demonic realm." I tried to help young persons through letters, videos and interviews, to stay away from what is known as the occult, to include all forms of witchcraft, and satanism.
Sadly, I was scorned. I went through many attacks by the media, law enforcement, and by those who belonged to different occult-related organizations, and even by ordinary people who, for whatever reasons, resented my efforts to expose the Devil and his evil works.
But after all my attempts to shed light on this dark part of life, and even though I was met with some success, for the most part I have moved on. I am thankful, however, for the opportunities which came my way over the years, to educate many. I've received countless letters of thanks, and even today people still seek my input on these matters, like the young man who recently wrote.
Nowadays, my message (a large part of it) is that Jesus can forgive sin. He can heal the brokenhearted, and fix twisted minds. Jesus can set people free from all kinds of addictions, and give those who've placed their faith in Him, hope, and peace of mind, even as society becomes unraveled.
