Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon
us, that we should be called the sons of God; therefore,
the world knows us not, because it knew Him not.
1 John 3:1
I thank God that I am no longer under the ownership of Satan...

I was at one time, but not anymore. Many would not understand this. They’d think it nonsense or insanity, but this was the case, just as it was for the demon controlled son. In the gospel accounts, the father, in an act of love and desperation, took his only child to Jesus with the hope his son could be helped.
It’s one of my favorite stories in the New Testament, probably because I could relate to this young man’s tormented state of mind. The boy was possessed by a spirit of suicide. How it happened is never explained. It kept trying to drive the boy to harm himself, and with his life seemingly out of control, his dad was at a loss as to what to do, until he heard about Jesus.
At one time I was like that young man. I was this way even into my early twenties, but to my great relief, Satan was finally evicted. Messiah Jesus set me free, forever.
Maybe my experience with deliverance wasn’t as dramatic as it was for the child and his father. There was no thrashing on the ground and no violent seizures. But the demons who’d been tormenting me since childhood were sent packing. Thank God!

Mark 9:14-29
Luke 9:37-42
