Yesterday was our annual Christian Family Day event. It was held in the prison’s gymnasium...
A little over one hundred people were in attendance, which consisted of the inmates and their guests. It was a time of joyous fellowship. I got to eat lunch with my two guests. My visitors and I also got to meet the families of some of the men.
It was a lot of work getting all the paperwork done, as well as setting up the gym. This included setting up our sound system along with putting out the tables and chairs. Cleaning up afterwards was a challenge, but the eight-man cleanup crew, which included myself, got it done.
I especially enjoyed having the gym teeming with children, from little toddlers sitting in their highchairs, to teenagers spending time with their dads or uncles.
