Today was our annual Christian Family Day event, which was held in the prison's gymnasium...
So I was able to spend the entire morning from 8 o'clock until two o'clock in the afternoon with the two friends I invited, plus my fellow Christians from the chapel, and their families.
I was told later by one of the chaplain's clerks that a total of ninety-seven people attended, which consisted of the inmates and their loved ones. It was nice seeing children playing with their fathers or uncles. I also got to meet a number of the guy's families, too.
As is the case every year, the event was paid for by the inmates ourselves. We all got to sit down to a nice but simple meal. Frankly, it was a blessing to eat a plate of seasoned and well cooked food compared to the normal prison fare that gets served every day. God indeed allowed us a very special time.
