It's Sunday morning. In the facility I'm at now...
...our usual Sunday worship service is in the afternoon rather than in the morning. This is because my chaplain also covers the medium security facility that's just down the road from Shawangunk. So he oversees the worship service for Wallkill Correctional Facility in the morning, and my prison in the afternoon. For me this means having several hours of personal time for myself where I now spend my Sunday mornings in a time of prayer and Scripture reading, catching up on a few letters, listening
to the local Christian station on my radio (www.SoundofLife.org), and simply resting and relaxing in the Lord.
Although I've been at Shawangunk for a little less than three months, I've made some friends within our chapel's fellowship. Three of these men live in the same housing unit as me. Thus, we can hang out more and have more opportunities to encourage one another in the faith. Truly, God has shown great favor to me, and I'm thankful.
