The Lord is doing something different with me these days...
Now that I've been at Shawangunk Correctional Facility for a little more than two months, I am better able to accept the reality that my time at Sullivan is truly over. I was in too much emotional pain, anxiety and denial to accept this at first. I'd been quietly hoping that a mistake had been made, that I was not supposed to be transferred and would soon be returned to my former facility.
Now, however, I am coming to terms with everything. While I am still going through a season of mourning the loss of my Christian brothers plus many good friends, and even some of Sullivan's staff whom I'd come to know, these days I am coping much better.
In reflection, I can now accept it that change was needed. As a result of the transfer, I find myself praying more, and drawing closer to the Lord. I believe, as well, that God has something for me to do here which He is yet to reveal. No matter what, I must continue the journey I'm on, desiring more than ever to be the good soldier my Lord Jesus Christ wants me to be.
