Within the past month, there has been a steady stream of seemingly senseless acts of violence that has left many feeling frightened, angry and confused...
In Santa Barbara, California, a twenty-two-year-old man went on a murderous shooting rampage, firing at people from inside his truck. The YouTube rants that he posted and left behind shows a young man who appears demonized. In the city of Seattle, Washington, a young man took a shotgun into a Christian college and started shooting people at random, killing another young man, and seriously wounding a second student before he was subdued. He offered no satisfactory explanation for his actions.
Yet in another shocking crime, this one making national headlines, two teenage girls repeatedly stabbed another girl, leaving her for dead. Fortunately, she survived. Sadly, the crime was carried out as some kind of sacrifice to appease a spirit-being who goes by the name of "Stick Man."
Then in the province of New Brunswick, Canada, a 42-year-old man dressed in military-style camouflage clothing, and armed with several weapons and lots of ammunition, began shooting at police officers. Three officers died instantly as the city of Moncton was held hostage for a day before the killer finally surrendered.
In Oregon, a young man walked into a high school and shot, and killed a fellow student, before turning the gun on himself, leaving a community grieving and asking why.
Whether or not demons played a role in any of these tragic events by putting thoughts into the minds of the perpetrators, we may never know. Something like this, although very likely in my opinion, could probably never be proven conclusively, but what I do know is that people need the Lord.
