And this I pray, that your love may
abound yet more and more in
knowledge and in all judgment.

Philippians 1:9
This morning, during my time of devotion to the Lord and His word, I was led to read Paul's letter to the church in the city of Philippi...
...which had been located in a region known as Macedonia, now a part of Greece. But it was verse 1:9 which stood out the most. It was if the Lord was highlighting something I needed to ponder. This being how the apostle Paul loved the church, as Christ Himself loved the church, and gave His life for it.
Paul wanted the best for his fellow Christians. He wanted them to mature in the faith as they learned how to accept and love one another. Yet amazingly, at one time Paul, known as Saul, hated the followers of the Lord Jesus. In fact, he persecuted them and put many of them to death. A religious murderer, by an act of God, would become a minister of the gospel and a lover of those he once tried to destroy.
As I meditated on the above verse in the Scriptures, I was convicted in my heart. I asked the Lord to give me the same kind of love Paul had. Many times I would find myself loving some in the body of Christ more than others and even not loving some at all.
I know I need work in this area. I asked the Lord to forgive my shortcomings and flaws. I asked Jesus to soften my heart so that I could truly love all my brothers and sisters in the church the same. This is all I have to share today.
