Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For
the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath,
because he knows that he has but a short time.

The Devil is an angry individual...
He's always in a rage. In fact, he is so angry that, not even a course in Anger Management would help. And he has good reason to feel this way. He knows he has only a short period of time remaining to do as much damage as he can, and steal as many souls as he can.
In a similar way, this is why I often find myself facing strong spiritual opposition. Satan, I believe, has two things against me. First, because of who I was in the past. In years past, I had been one of his dedicated soldiers, willingly serving him. Second, because I have since switched sides. I am now a soldier and servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. And this has sent Satan's blood pressure sky-high.
This is likewise true for every one of Christ's disciples. As God is using my testimony, as well as those of other Christians, as a means of penetrating the spiritual darkness that many are still bound by. Through faith in Christ Jesus, we can show them there's a way out of their bondage. Yes, every disciple of Christ is meant to be a living example of His mercy, and a trophy of His grace (1 Timothy 1:15-16).
Hence, the Devil's rage. He's losing souls and his kingdom is crumbling. His pride has been hurt. But Lucifer is not to be pitied. Rather, Jesus Christ is to be praised!
