Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein:
then shall the trees of the wood rejoice.
Psalm 96:12
As I write this entry in my journal, I wish to report that my tree friends, Miss Goldie and Mister Orange, are doing splendid...
then shall the trees of the wood rejoice.
Psalm 96:12
As I write this entry in my journal, I wish to report that my tree friends, Miss Goldie and Mister Orange, are doing splendid...
I saw them earlier and they are a nice healthy green. For them, summer's been great. And when they're
happy, so am I.
With all the rain we've had in my part of the world, and all the record-setting heat, I know Miss Goldie and Mister Orange are rejoicing. Unlike last year when they experienced a drought and had to struggle through much of the summer, this year's been perfect for trees. Now they have the chance to store up extra water and absorb a greater amount of nutrients from the soil to last them throughout autumn and winter.
I'm sure God smiled when He created the trees with all their shapes and sizes. And now I'm smiling too, seeing my friends looking so robust and healthy. I cannot wait for the fall, when they dress their best for the season.
Last year was a disappointment when they failed to have their leaves reach the fullest potential of autumn colors. The drought did its damage. But this year? I pray their leaves will again reach their fullest level of color. I want to see Miss Goldie displaying her natural golden yellow elegance, and Mister Orange his lordly gallant orange. May they once again take their places as King and Queen of the woods.
