Worth the Wait

The Lord is good unto them that wait 
for Him, to the soul that seeks Him.
Lamentations 3:25

As I continue along on this journey called life…

I realize more than ever just how vital it is to wait upon the Lord. He has a perfect time for everything. And it's often when we least expect it that the answer to a particular prayer comes to pass. 

In this case, my prayer and the prayers of my fellow believers for a new chaplain has now been answered. A new pastor is here. I've met him, and I know he is a godly man of honor and integrity who loves the Lord, and the Scriptures. Hearing him preach for the first time this past Sunday, I've no doubt he will be a good fit for our unique congregation of ex-felons turned disciples of Christ.

We waited for a long time for a replacement to fill the position of our former chaplain, who retired in December after twenty years of service. Although the prison's administrators were kind enough to allow us to hold our worship services and Bible studies in the chapel by ourselves, it is both good and wise to have a well qualified and Spirit-filled employee in the position of overseer.

The Lord gave us the right man. It was worth the wait.
