Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall
strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, on the Lord.
Psalm 27:14
I am exceedingly grateful for all those who pray for me, and continue to do so…
strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, on the Lord.
Psalm 27:14
I am exceedingly grateful for all those who pray for me, and continue to do so…
I have learned that I cannot make it on my own. There are no spiritual Supermen in God's kingdom. But there is a God who strengthens and empowers me from within.
As Christ told His followers, "For without Me you cannot do anything" (John 15:5). I know this to be true. Not only because I read it in the Bible, but because I have experienced it firsthand, and many times at that.
For the past several months, for example, I have been feeling mentally and physically exhausted. Working as a mobility assistant for the handicapped, plus helping out in the chapel and overseeing the services and Bible studies, takes far more patience and strength than I could ever manufacture on my own.
In addition, in May I finished an intense 3-credit college class in Environmental Science that I am still recuperating from. I definitely cannot do at age sixty-nine what I was able to do at age thirty-five.
And with all the above, I must include having to handle my daily correspondence along with the many hours I put into writing my journal. As my friends know, what I put on paper comes from my heart.
With these things said, I will continue to look to the Lord as my source of energy, endurance, and joy. "I can do all things through Jesus Christ who gives me the strength" (Philippians 4:13).
