It's been a busy Friday...
...having to work both morning and afternoon cleaning up the chapel, along with doing some office bookkeeping.
Last Tuesday was my night to teach our Bible study. For the past month, I've been teaching on the seven churches that are found in chapters two and three of the book of Revelation. But this past Tuesday, I sensed a need to explore and discuss the forty-sixth Psalm.
We went through this popular Psalm verse by verse, stopping to discuss each one. My theme was "cries of desperation."
I offered the guys the chance to make comments and share about how, in a particular time of desperation, the Lord heard their cry and came to the rescue.
I shared about an experience I had, as well. How my loving heavenly Father came to me when I called to Him in what I felt was an urgent situation.
Psalm 46 is one of my favorites, and with good reason. I believe the men left the 90-minute session feeling encouraged. As a father responds to the cry of his child, I told them, so will our God come to us when we call.
