I have definitely been feeling the effects of the heat and humidity of summer...
I can break into a sweat simply by bending down to tie my shoelaces. How I long for the fall season to arrive.
Having now been incarcerated for 42 years, I know how difficult prison can be. Even with Christ in my heart, there are the daily trials and tribulations that have to be faced. My spiritual battles never end. At times, weariness and exhaustion will come upon me, like right now.
But this is where God’s grace comes into play. It is the Lord who strengthens me from within, and it is not of myself.
Here is where the victory lies for the Christian. My faith, combined with a faithful, powerful, and loving God, is what takes me through the day. It is the Lord who leads me onto victory over my environment, over temptation, and overall the wiles of the Devil.
