Since placing my faith in Christ I’ve taken an interest in praying for those who live in distant lands...
And for a number of years now I’ve been praying for the nation of Tunisia. It’s a small country in Northern Africa. Tunisia has become dear to my heart.
Tunisia consists mostly of Muslims who speak Arabic. In times past it was formerly a French colony. In addition, it’s also home to a small population of Jews. Because they’re a minority the Jews of Tunisia will sometimes experience discrimination, and even persecution. In recent years they’ve suffered from acts of terrorism, too.
If I remember correctly, once a terrorist armed with a rifle opened fire on a number of Jews and foreigners, killing some. While another time a man deliberately drove a fuel truck into a synagogue taking the lives of a handful of worshipers, and doing extensive damage to the building, as well.
Yet in spite of these acts of hatred, I pray God will touch the hearts of the Tunisian people so they could believe in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. That they would no longer view Jesus as just another prophet.
Furthermore, I pray for the protection of my Jewish brethren, and for their salvation in Jesus (Yeshua). May the Almighty God bless Tunisia.
