For which cause we faint not: but though our outward man perish, yet the
inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for
a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight in glory.
2 Corinthians 4:16-17
The prayers friends send up to God’s throne of grace on my behalf are much appreciated...

These days, I seem to be encountering increasing amounts of spiritual warfare. The prison is chaotic, as correctional facilities so often are. Men stand at the front of their cells yelling to friends down the tier. This goes on daily. Then there are the oppressive levels of heat and humidity, which zaps my strength.
But with the Lord’s help, the tasks of the ministry manage to get done. My correspondence gets done, although I’m often far behind with my replies, my trusty typewriter continues to tap away.
As a disciple of Jesus Christ, there is no place for quitters. The Lord has a work for every Christian to do (Ephesians 2:10). It’s a work that cannot be done in the flesh or by human effort. It can only be accomplished through the Holy Spirit, Who dwells within every believer. Please don’t forget this.
