My apologies to everyone for my not keeping up with my correspondence...
I don’t seem to have the strength right now. The extremely oppressive heat and humidity of summer, and not having air conditioning in the cell blocks or windows which don’t open fully, make for exhausted bodies.
But the heat is just one of many things prisoners have to deal with. The other is noise. Men yell to friends down the tier and loud conversations. Then, for me, there’s the cigarette smoke.
Even as I write this entry, beads of sweat are dripping down my face. I have to be careful not to allow sweat to drip onto my typewriter, or on the paper I’m writing on. By the grace of God, I’m doing what I can to get things done. So please be patient with me.
