The time of the fortieth anniversary, which I have written about extensively since the start of the year, is now underway...
Various television, newspaper and magazine companies have already begun to release their respective articles and productions. While this is exceedingly painful for me, I have to take everything in stride.
First, no matter what happens, the word of God lets me know that my life belongs to Jesus Christ. Thus, my affections are no longer in the material things of the world, but in heavenly things. In God's eyes, I have been forgiven of my sins and crimes; I've been redeemed by the blood of Jesus.
Second, I want it to be known that the present rehashing of the crimes is solely the work of the entertainment industry, and the media. The revisiting of this tragedy, and its reintroduction into the public eye, is for their benefit, and certainly not for mine.
In my view, it's all about advertising dollars and ratings. To them, "Son of Sam" is a product to be sold and marketed. And to let the general public know, none of this requires my consent and permission. No doubt, many will be surprised to know this.
For me, the renewed publicity means emotional pain, and aggravation. But whatever happens in the days to come, I know the Lord will see me through the storm, and He will help the victims of my crimes as well.
