The extreme heat has my internal engine malfunctioning...
In other words, the oppressive heat of summer is affecting my brain, or at least I think it is. Ha!
It's been so very hot and humid that I'm finding it hard to concentrate. It seems to require extra strength and effort to get things done. Even writing letters is a challenge. The cell block doesn't have air conditioning.
In addition to this, during the summer season the atmosphere in here usually changes for the worse. There's a noticeable increase of tension among the men. Short fuses and hot tempers as the high humidity makes for irritability, and the potential for more fights and arguments.
For some it's harder to cool down both physically and emotionally. Such is prison life in the summer. The sticky and stagnant air can make for trouble. But so far, all is well.
