Several men who are members of the chapel's fellowship are aware of my concern about the upcoming fortieth anniversary of my arrest, and the possibility of unwanted publicity for me...
They know my heart has been heavy about it, although I don't discuss it much.
Well today at church I got a nice surprise. All the guys gathered around me and asked if they could pray for me. How could I refuse? So after placing their hands upon me, Ivan (not his real name) was the first to begin. He asked for God's hands of protection over my life. That I would have the peace of God instead of having knots in my stomach, which I confess has been the case of late.
As each man took his turn to pray a deep peace began to fill my soul. Afterwards I thanked the guys profusely. I was humbled by their care and concern. It also made me thankful to be amongst such a loving band of brothers. I'm a blessed man!
