I often receive letters from people who ask about matters relating to the occult...
And one such individual wrote to ask for my views on a tragic shooting which occurred a few months ago in a large Navy yard in the Washington, D.C. area. He asked if I thought there was some kind of demonic influence in this violent outburst which left ten people dead.
While I only know a few general details about the incident and the shooter, I do believe that there was at least some degree of demonic influence here.
In a lengthy article which appeared in the New York Times, the shooter had been involved in Yoga and Eastern Mysticism. The article also said that it appeared to those who knew him, that at some point he began to lose his mind. Family and friends said he was exhibiting signs of paranoia, thinking people were after him. He would also, on occasion, display acts of intense anger.
Clearly, this individual had become a “Walking Time Bomb.” Like a volcano, he finally erupted in a cascade of extreme violence, taking the lives of those whom he did not know. From my own experience of delving into the realm of the occult, I believe that I actually came into contact with demons, and I cannot help but believe that this man had himself become a victim of severe demonic oppression.
While there is no way to conclusively prove it, one has to look at the overall level of evil that was done. Assuredly, demons are NOT involved in all crimes involving homicide. Nor are they involved in the lives of many of those who have signs of mental illness. But to me, this man was being driven by something which propelled him to kill. In other words, this tragic incident was more than that of an angry man. There was, in my opinion, a far more sinister force at work.
Most psychologists would scoff at such an idea, and it is understandable. After all, for many of them, their minds are closed to the aspect of a spirit realm that seeks to involve itself in the affairs of mankind. I think this is a great loss.
