Even though I have been a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ for more than twenty years...
...I know in my heart that I could be doing much better than I am in my walk with the Lord. There's always a need f or improvement, and the Lord is always more than willing to help in this regard.
Asking the Lord to search my heart and examine my ways and motives is a good thing. And this is part of what the Holy Spirit is for. He searches my heart from within with the light of holiness, then brings my shortcomings to my attention for correction and change.
As a disciple of the Lord, I know I never have to prove anything to anyone. That men may judge me is not an issue. Because the fact is, God loves me. He has forgiven all my sins, never to remember them again. Therefore, with this in mind, I must echo the words of the apostle Paul, "But by the grace of God, I am what I am" (1 Corinthians 15:10a).
