The oppressive heat and humidity of summer is now upon me...
Generally, I don't handle hot weather very well. I think my body, with all its hair and thick skin, is better adapted for cooler climates. In any case, I am doing my best to cope. My little 6-inch fan has been on all day. It helps somewhat, and I'm thankful to have it. I've been drinking extra water, too. I'm determined to survive another summer in prison.
But, the biggest challenge, however, is not having to deal with the hot weather. Rather, it is with those who seek to oppress me mentally. Yes, this is part of prison life. Because the reality is that not everyone likes me. Although I always try to be friendly and upbeat, I've got my share of David haters.
Perhaps it is jealousy, or envy, or something else? Not everyone is happy to see me prospering. Nevertheless, the Lord Jesus is with me. He is my Shepherd, and He is always faithful to take good care of His flock. Thus, I am confident I'm in good hands with God.
