The Lord is good. He is a strong refuge when trouble
comes. He is close to those who trust in Him.

comes. He is close to those who trust in Him.
Nahum 1:7 NLT
I continue to look to the Lord for my help and strength...
My hope is always in Him. So I know that whatever I may be facing in life, Messiah Jesus is with me. Of this I have no doubt.
But I also draw encouragement and strength by reading the stories of my fellow believers who have gone through tremendous struggles and challenges as they suffered persecution for their faith. And one of these courageous individuals was a pastor by the name of Watchman Nee.
Pastor Nee was a Chinese Christian who was imprisoned for refusing to renounce his faith when China underwent its violent transition to Communism. But while he was confined, he became a prolific writer who would serve the Lord by encouraging fellow Christians to stay faithful to Jesus, even in times of suffering and hardship.
Then, after twenty-one years of confinement, Watchman Nee entered into glory on June 1,1972. But he left behind a treasure trove of godly writings that he managed to smuggle out of prison, many of which would be published after his death. While today, his books can be found almost everywhere.
I am grateful for Pastor Nee's service to the churches. His writings have inspired multitudes of Christians, including me. His work was a labor of love, which he performed at grave risk. His was a life well spent, and I'm certain his heavenly rewards will be great.
