As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so
is good news from a far country.
Proverbs 25:25
It's a good thing when someone receives encouraging news...

Proverbs 25:25
It's a good thing when someone receives encouraging news...
And that's what I got. News that put a smile on my face and joy in my heart. Among church people, we like to call it getting a "praise report." But whatever term one wishes to use, it made me feel good.
Those who know me will tell you that one of the things I love to do is pray for different nations, as well as praying for various peoples' groups and backgrounds. One of which is the indigenous First Nations tribes in both the United States and Canada. This is something God has put on my heart, and I want to be faithful to carry it out.
In fact, over the years I even took the liberty to write to different tribal chiefs sharing my faith with them while letting them know how much I love my Native American brothers and sisters. I did this in faith, not even knowing if my letters would reach them. Many of these tribes are located in remote areas, especially in Canada.
In Canada, there are First Nations tribes on reserves which are many miles from roads and can only be accessed by airplane or boat. And if by boat, one may have to crisscross a series of lakes, rivers, and creeks.
So it was a big surprise when I received a letter from a worker at Moriel Ministries in Dover, Tennessee, who wrote the following:
"My dearest brother David, I am writing to share some blessed news with you. Please be encouraged. You may not remember, but you felt moved to pray and reach out to a small Indian tribe in Nova Scotia, Canada.
"The Mic Mac band received a letter from you many years ago. I am writing to share with you that the first, born again believer has emerged from among them. His name is _______, and he is a beloved brother now.
"The tribe has kept your letter all these years, and we both rejoiced when we (the Moriel Ministries group) learned of it. Your seed was watered, and God has given the growth.
"I wanted to tell you so you could rejoice also... "Grace and mercy and peace be with you."
I withheld her name along with the man's name for privacy purposes.
This was good news indeed!
