Well, for a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Earth is a planet of opportunities. In the apostle's case, Paul saw a vision of a man beckoning him for help. May I say the entire world needs our help.
Therefore, do we, the disciples of Christ, have a vision of a world damaged by sin, with hurting people in need? The Scripture declares that without a vision, "the people perish" (Proverbs 29:18). While the Lord Jesus himself instructs his followers to "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every person" (Mark 16:15).
Jesus saw humanity as being spiritually lost, and as sheep without a Shepherd. While, according to the Bible, Jesus never let an opportunity pass to assist those who needed and wanted his assistance.
So my question is, are we the body of Christ seeking to help those in need? As I write this entry from my prison cell, I want to encourage my brothers and sisters that in this time of a raging pandemic, economic uncertainty and social unrest, to shine as lights in the darkness. To reach out to a world of hurting and fearful people and show them the love of Christ. As it has so often been said, "The only Jesus people will ever see, is the Jesus they see in us."
The Lord wants his sons and daughters to be the bright lights of hope He has called and equipped us to be. We have just what the world needs. We have the "Word of Life" (Philippians 2:13-16).
Please, my brethren, look for those God-given opportunities to be a blessing to your neighbors, your country, and even to the whole world. Thank you!
