The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord has
anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; He has sent
me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the
captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.
Isaiah 61:1
Some of the correspondence I receive is from those who have gone through, or are presently going through, a difficult situation, or several of them at the same time...

Young and old. All with different problems and circumstances. A collection of broken lives that have been pulverized by painful events, shattered dreams, and feelings of deep despair and hopelessness.
Many times I have asked myself, "Why, me?" Why do strangers seek me out? Why come to me, a man who's been shut away from society, and locked up behind prison walls for more than four decades? What advice could I possibly give them during their times of emotional suffering and loss?
How could I help and encourage all these precious individuals? What could I say? I have to ask for guidance and wisdom from God alone. For, my own understanding is grossly inadequate and limited. So whatever I say through my writings must come from Him. A very imperfect man seeking help from a perfect God.
I do believe, however, that others seek me out because they sense in me something of a kindred spirit. My life has been a story of, from darkness to light, and madness to sanity. They know I have journeyed through a long, dark tunnel, and by the grace of God, I have come through it.
I have endured many a fierce storm. Yet I have survived. I have found peace with both myself, and with Jesus my Lord. I believe, as well, that others can sense this, too. That I am an overcomer. And I say this with gratitude and humility.
My Creator, I believe, has allowed me to stay on planet Earth as a guest, so that I can be a beacon of light and hope in what is, for the most part, a very spiritually dark world. As the often-repeated saying goes, "Where there is life, there is hope."
