Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring
forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way
in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

New Year’s Eve was uneventful...
I've been in a state of tiredness. Perhaps I should call it exhaustion. I wanted to spend time reading the Scriptures, but ended up getting almost no reading done. I turned in early. So did many of my fellow prisoners. It may be difficult for those on the outside to understand, but when you’re behind the walls, holidays are not celebrated in the same way, if at all. It was so quiet you’d never know it was New Year’s Eve.
Meanwhile, I’ve been getting a handle on my duties in the chapel. I’m actually starting to like the clerk’s job. It’s not without its stress, however. And it takes up a lot of my strength and time. But I know that God will renew my strength in His time. “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31a).
