I’m finally gathering the strength to write about the deep emotional losses I experienced this past November...
Three dear friends and “brothers” in Christ went home to be with the Lord.
The first was Keith. He died at the age of sixty-four after a long battle with cancer. I’ve known Keith and his wife for at least 25 years. They prayed for me often and were very gospel-focused. Keith was active in sharing his faith and was an inspiration to me.
While the second loss was my friend and brother, Sam. Like Keith, Sam fought a long battle with cancer before the Lord graciously took him home. I've known Sam for more than two decades. He was a hard-working man who, along with his beloved wife, raised two daughters. Sam was in his seventies when he passed away.
Lastly, was my dear friend, Dan. A retired high school teacher, Dan died on November 19th at the age of 75. He was deeply committed to sharing his faith. He also liked passing out copies of my testimony. I’ve known Dan for about thirty years. His obituary stated that his favorite Scripture passage was Proverbs 3:5-6.
Three friends. Three losses. But I will see them again when it’s my turn to make that one-way trip to heaven.
