When we come to Jesus, we come as sinners in need of forgiveness...
Sin and Satan have taken their toll on each of us. So we come to Him with deep wounds, crushed spirits, and broken hearts, all the result of living in a fallen world.
I came to Messiah Jesus in this condition. The emotional pain and guilt were the worst of it. I lost contact with my family, and my freedom as well. I also lost my mind.
When someone places his faith in Christ and asks Him for forgiveness, he receives it immediately. One’s sins — past, present, and future - are washed away by Christ’s blood. However, the process of inner healing from all the damage our sins caused, takes a lifetime.
Paradoxically, when we repent of our sins and place our faith in the Lord, we are saved from the eternal penalty for our sins. Yet at the same time, we begin the journey of God mending our wounded souls from within.
These truths should be an encouragement for all who have called upon the name of Jesus, and have placed their faith and hope in Him.
