I’m still in the process of getting adjusted to working full-time as the chaplain’s clerk...
Prior to this, I worked in the prison’s library for about twenty-one months. Then, as a result of my heart attack and bypass surgery, I was without a work assignment for almost a year.
So far I’m doing okay. I’m still learning the ropes. I’ve been familiarizing myself with the filing system and all the paperwork that needs to get done. As I mentioned in a previous entry, the chaplain’s office is a busy place.
I’ve been cleaning out the lockers and rearranging things and making improvements where needed. The chapel’s book loaning library has more than a thousand books in stock. It needs to be inventoried. So another inmate has volunteered to help with this. Inventorying our books and setting up a new and improved filing system may take weeks.
While I’m not happy with all the time I have to spend working in the office as it eats into my own time for writing, to include answering correspondence, I’m okay with the job. I continue to look to the Lord for my help and strength. Jesus has not failed me yet, and He never will.
