Looking back over all that has transpired since my heart attack and bypass surgery, I could now see it as a gift and blessing from the Lord...
The heart attack was a blessing because if it didn't happen when it did, a far more dangerous attack was looming on the horizon. During the incident, I remained fully conscious and alert. I wasn't in excessive pain, and I was able to speak clearly to the ambulance's crew who picked me up, and with the staff at the hospital.
But after going through the tests they gave me at the hospital, I learned that two of the main arteries to my heart were completely blocked, while the others were almost as bad. So the meaning is clear. Had my heart attack not happened when it did, it would've only been a matter of time before a bigger and perhaps very lethal attack would have struck. A so called "widow-maker." No one survives those. I got off easy.
