The Light

Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the
light of the world:  He that follows me shall not walk
in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:12

Earlier, I was talking to a man about depression...

He was feeling downcast, so I tried to gently encourage him with several Scriptures as well as share some of my own experiences with despondency and despair, and feelings of hopelessness. As I too have had many battles with depression in varying degrees. It's a malady that affects millions. Since placing my trust in Christ, however, while the demon of depression will on occasion try to rear its ugly head, I have better awareness as to how to deal with it now.

Today, I know without a doubt, that there is always light at the end of those long, dark tunnels of sadness and melancholy. And the Light I'm referring to is actually a person. It is the Lord Jesus Christ Himself whom the Bible declares Him to be the Light of the world. Therefore, as long as I have the Light (Jesus) living in me, I have all that I need.
