Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not
your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27
Like any disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ, I have my share of trials, troubles, and difficult days...

Even the Lord himself said that while I am in the world, I will encounter these things. The Christian is not exempt from experiencing times of pain, disappointment and loss. But the Lord also said, in the very same Scripture, to be of "good cheer." He has already overcome the world. And because I am in Him, I too have overcome (John 16:33).
Both John 14:27 and John 16:33 are good Scriptures to know, and to have hidden in my heart. Only through a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus, and by knowing He is always with me and lives in me, can I experience true peace from within. And having such a peace is vital because many are getting sick, even dying prematurely because of all the stress that's in their lives.
Stress kills! It's a medical fact. It causes many to experience high blood pressure, which in turn leads to greater risks of heart attack and stroke, while others turn to alcohol or other drugs, such as sedatives and narcotics, to help them cope with stress. Scores die from overdoses or are hospitalized because of the use of such things. Yes, stress can put you in the grave.
What a blessing it is therefore to have Jesus Christ as the head of my life, and to know the Prince of Peace so that I too may experience His peace. It's a supernatural peace which passes all human comprehension (Philippians 4:6-7).
