I am thankful more than words could express for all my friends who pray f or me, whether on a daily basis as some say they do, while for others it may be only once in a while...
Either way, I'm grateful. And I want to be faithful to pray for them as well.
Being in prison, it's easy to find things to complain about. But as I look over the letters I received since the start of the new year, I've no right to complain about anything. Reading what many of my friends are going through - battles with cancer, car accidents, falls, sick children, mounting bills and an array of family problems - all facing fierce trials, what do I have to cry about?
Not only do my friends need my prayers, but I need to be thankful that I have far fewer problems than they do. And when I reply to each of their letters, I will tell them of my prayers on their behalf. How I am asking the Lord to surround each family with His peace, and an awareness of His presence. I will remind them as well that Jesus has everyone in the palms of His hands. That He loves them too much to allow any to sink into a state of defeat and despair.
Indeed, it is through the fervent prayers of the saints, the Word of God, the Holy Spirit, the Lord Jesus, and the all-consuming power of God the Father, that prayers are answered, and battles are won.
