Set your affection on things above,
not on things on the earth.

Colossians 3:2
I received a big dose of encouragement today...
Yesterday I had to oversee our evening's service in the chapel. In the process of doing this I was able to give the congregation an approximately seven-minute exhortation from Colossians 3:1-4 on our lives now being "hid" with Christ, and what such a thing entails. That we who have placed our faith in the Lord and His finished work on the cross now have our sins hid with Jesus, never to be remembered by God anymore.
But it was my turn to be encouraged when during this morning's worship service, a preacher who was here this Sunday for the first time, delivered to the men the exact same message. He used the same Scriptures, too.
I was extremely encouraged by such a "confirmation," as Christians like to call it. Same message, same verses from Paul's letter to the Colossians. Today's volunteer minister was unaware of this until after the service when several members of my fellowship went to him and told him. Then it was his turn to be encouraged.
Truly I am always amazed and humbled at the ways God works. Oftentimes when I least expect it, the Lord does something special for me, as He did today. How I adore the Lord Jesus. I want to keep praising His wonderful name!
