This is one of the most coveted jobs in the prison, and one in which you are entrusted with everything that is very important in an environment such as this--preparation of meals.
I was surprised because I’d never expressed an interest in cooking. I was perfectly content to be washing pots and pans. In fact, I think I am so inept at cooking that even trying to boil a kettle of water would be a challenge for me.
But this is indeed something to pray about. It would involve approximately six months of both classroom and on the job training. It would also mean having to leave my job at the Intermediate Care Program (E-North) and having to say goodbye to the friends I have made over the years, helping to care for them, praying with them, and just listening to their concerns.
I will have to pray about this, and I will have very little time to make my decision because the food preparation class is going to be starting very soon.
