It was only a couple of days after I wrote a journal entry titled "Charred Cell"...
...that a maintenance team consisting of two civilian employees showed up at my housing unit to make repairs inside the cell which had the fire.
Then, the following day, two inmate painters arrived with, brushes and a can of white paint. Quickly they went to work putting coats of fresh paint on those badly blackened walls.
While today, an inmate who had been in the hospital for several months returned back to B-North, and was given the newly restored cell to call home.
Unless one happened to be here when the fire occurred, you'd never know that only a few weeks earlier a depressed prisoner tried to roast himself alive in that cell. Now it looks brand new.
