But the God of all grace, who has called
us into His eternal glory by Jesus Christ,
after that ye have suffered a while, make
you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.

you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you.
1 Peter 5:10
Last year came with many hardships...
I had to face some big challenges, and there were periods of frustration and disappointment. But God did wonderful things as well. My story of hope traveled to new places, including many more prisons. And through Christ's enabling power, there was one victory after another.
In addition, the Lord provided me with many opportunities to help and encourage my fellow Christians with the same comfort and encouragement the Lord first gave to me. So in all this, my heart is humbled, and I want to always give thanks to my heavenly Father for making this possible. And I still believe that the best years of my life as a Christian are yet to come.
Even my times of tiredness and chronic fatigue have resulted in something good. I say this because, through these situations, God was and is teaching me not to rely on anyone or anything for my strength. I am to look to God alone.
As the above Scripture from Peter's first letter to the church states, those who believe in Jesus will experience varying degrees of personal suffering. It may come by persecution, sickness, family troubles or something else. But these different kinds of sufferings and hardships, plus having to wait upon the Lord, will eventually work for a greater purpose. Any many times we may not even understand what the purpose is. Nevertheless, it is only going to last for a while. It won't last forever.
