Now unto Him (Jesus) who is able to keep you from falling,
and to present you faultless before His presence...
Jude 24
It has been a season of challenges...

Jude 24
It has been a season of challenges...
As I've shared in prior entries, the past two years seem to have had more trials and difficulties than usual. But this is of no surprise. Jesus said that His disciples will be facing difficulties as we live out our lives in a fallen world. Yet He quickly added, to "be of good cheer" because He has overcome the world (John 16:33).
I look at it this way, the more problems and troubles I have, the more I find myself looking to Jesus for help. God is faithful, and as it says in the New Testament's letter from Jude, He is able to keep me from falling. He's holding me up.
Not only this, but Jesus is able to present me "faultless" before God's throne. What? Even now, as I write this, I have to confess that I have many faults. I'm still a work in progress with a long way to go in reaching Christian maturity. My faults? The list would be embarrassingly long.
This is what the angel of the Lord told Mary when he gave her the news that although still a virgin, she was going to bring forth a son who will be given the name JESUS, and He will save His people from their sins.
This is what the Lord Jesus did for me. He paid the price for my sins with His own blood, which He willingly shed on the cross. By doing so, He not only paid the penalty for my sins, but in God's eyes I can now stand faultless before Him.
Many will insist that it's not possible for a convicted felon who took innocent lives to be forgiven, and to stand before the God of the universe as faultless, too. But I will go along with what the Bible says rather than what people say.
