Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you:
Not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not
your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:27
One of the major themes which can be found in the Bible is that those who trust in the Lord never need to allow fear to fill their minds and hearts...

We need not allow it to rob us of our peace. Both the Old and New Testaments attest to this truth.
In the Old Testament, one of my favorite verses was written by a little known prophet by the name of Nahum. Little is known about him other than he was a God-fearing man who lived around 700 B.C. The Scripture reads as follows, "The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; He knows them that trust in Him" (Nahum 1:7).
Over the years I have used this verse many times to encourage the men in my fellowship, as well as in letters to friends, and in my journal. And with good reason. It is a spiritually powerful and pertinent Scripture to hide in one's heart. It is a much-needed verse in times of trouble. So are Christ's words, as I quoted from John's gospel account.
There will always be some kind of trouble happening in the world. This time it's the Coronavirus. Next, it may be something else. Be it a pandemic, or a war, or some other kind of life-threatening situation, whatever the case or situation may be, we need to trust in the Lord. We need not live in fear; we must live by faith.
