"Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the
Lord has done for thee, and has had compassion on thee."
Mark 5:19
There was a time in my life when I was much like the demon-possessed man as told in the gospels of Mark chapter five, and Luke chapter eight in the New Testament...

Mark 5:19
There was a time in my life when I was much like the demon-possessed man as told in the gospels of Mark chapter five, and Luke chapter eight in the New Testament...
Depressed and suicidal. Lonely, and crying out for help. But no one heard me.
These were for me very dark and demonic days, in which six innocent people lost their lives, and seven more were wounded. It was a time of fear and terror in New York City. These were the days of "Son of Sam," a deranged and deluded slave and servant of a satanic deity known in occultic literature and legends as "Samhain." He was a powerful entity who demanded human sacrifice and fresh blood.
How I deeply regret those days of horror. How did this happen? Why? For me, facing multiple life sentences in prison, there appeared to be no hope.
But approximately ten years into my prison sentence, the Lord sent one of His faithful servants - in this case, it was a fellow inmate - to tell me that the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, loved me. He wanted me, a lost soul, to come to Him in faith. He wanted to forgive me, as well as allow me to begin a new life as the "Son of Hope."
I thought to myself, "You've got to be kidding? God cares about me, and loves me too?" It was true. I heard the gospel, and in spite of my initial disbelief, I made the choice to place my faith in Jesus. And from that moment, the Lord came into my heart and set me free from Satan's cruel grip.
Alone in a cold, dark prison cell, the light of Christ shined. I repented of my sins, and the blood of Jesus washed them away. The demons who tormented me had to flee. My life has never been the same.
The once-feared Son of Sam became a son of God. And like the formerly demon-possessed man in the Bible, I want to proclaim to the entire world what Jesus Christ has done for me. Telling people everywhere of the mercy of God. That His forgiveness is available for everyone. "For whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord, will be saved" (Romans 10:13).
