Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind
is stayed on Thee, because he trusts in Thee.

While many hearts and minds are filled with fear over this so-called pandemic, those who are disciples of the Lord Jesus should have their minds at rest. The Bible refers to this as the peace which "surpasses all human comprehension." It is an inner peace which cannot come by human effort, nor by positive thinking. It is a supernatural peace which comes from knowing God and trusting in His words (Philippians 4:6-7).
In yesterday's entry I mentioned the difference between a healthy fear which helps to keep us from making bad choices and bringing harm to ourselves. These are wise warnings from our heavenly Father. Whereas, the carnal and fleshly emotion of fear is unhealthy and harmful. It is the kind of fear that can open the door for a demonic stronghold to develop in a person's mind. It is a fear which causes unrest and torment. It may even cause a person to become depressed and suicidal by tragically thinking all is hopeless. It's not!
In the times we're living in, the last thing we need is to be living in a state of panic. It is wise, however, during this outbreak of the Coronavirus to have reasonable concern and take whatever precautions are necessary to limit one's exposure. But to live in a state of fear and dread is sad, harmful, and unnecessary. Why? Because God's peace is available to all who want it and ask for it.
The peace which passes all human understanding is one of the blessings the Lord has provided for those who have placed their faith in Jesus. One who has repented of his or her sins, and has placed their faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross of Calvary, will not only have forgiveness for all their transgressions, along with the gift of eternal life; they will have access to His peace, as well.
Having a personal and intimate relationship with one's Creator is a wonderful thing. Jesus is not only Savior and Messiah, He is the antidote to fear, anxiety, panic, and dread.
